Project Overview

CEG supplied a bespoke inductive ducting solution for Dalmilling Primary School, working closely with Clancy Consulting and Airdrie Mechanical Services to develop an effective ventilation strategy for the project.

During the design review process, CEG identified an opportunity to improve upon the original project brief by proposing an inductive ducting solution. Following discussions with the consulting engineer, it was agreed that the proposed system would provide a more suitable and efficient method of air distribution for the application.

The selected solution was manufactured by Brofer in Italy and comprised approximately 30 metres of galvanised steel inductive ducting.

Main Challenge

The project required an air distribution solution capable of delivering effective ventilation while meeting the performance requirements of a modern educational environment.

Following review of the original design brief, it became apparent that an alternative approach could provide improved air distribution and system performance. The challenge was to demonstrate the benefits of the proposed solution and work collaboratively with the consultant team to achieve the best outcome for the project.

Solution Provided

CEG worked closely with Clancy Consulting throughout the design process, providing technical guidance and supporting the selection of an inductive ducting system as an alternative to the originally proposed solution.

The Brofer inductive ducting system was selected due to its ability to provide uniform air distribution throughout occupied spaces, improve occupant comfort, deliver efficient ventilation performance, integrate effectively within the architectural constraints of the building and provide a robust and durable galvanised steel construction.

By engaging early in the design process, CEG was able to assist the project team in selecting a solution tailored to the specific requirements of the school environment.

Result

The project was successfully delivered with approximately 30 metres of Brofer inductive ducting supplied and installed as part of the ventilation system.

The collaborative approach between CEG, Clancy Consulting and Airdrie Mechanical Services resulted in a solution that better met the project’s air distribution requirements while providing long term performance and reliability.

The project highlights CEG’s ability to add value beyond product supply, working with consultants and contractors to develop alternative solutions that improve overall project outcomes.
